About this site...
Update (August, 2002) -- this page needs updating!
Update (January, 2005) -- Considering that I've moved to yet another country, I really need to update!
Update (January, 2006) -- Well, I'm now too old to update.

The heart of this site is currently the weekly figure drawings. Some of these drawings are very raw and unfinished, but the idea was to create a format that allowed regular updates. This site is constantly a work in progress. In fact, at last count, it's been up for 20 years, and had around 300 URL changes. Currently though, it's run through a variety of scripts, Perl, PHP, on a server running in my apartment. Most pages are automatically generated so that all I have to do is drop some pictures into a directory, and everything just updates without too much work.

Some Credit is due to:
Image Thumbs - automatically creates thumbnails of my images
DBMAN, by Gossamer Threads - powers the flat-file Figure Drawing database

Our drawing group meets on Wednesday nights, hence the title of the site.

About the session...
Our session is in San Jose, CA, located behind Recycle Bookstore. We usually start at 3 minute warm ups, then go to 6 minutes, then finally we finish with a few 15 to 30 minute drawings. Its also nice to have new members join our group, so if you're interested in figure drawing, feel free to contact me for a drop in. We've got some great models, each with a different quality.

The drawings are mostly pen and ink done on white copy paper. This line drawing format is very easy to scan in and archive. The size of the drawings vary between 8.5x11 and 11x17.

About me...
"While most people made Goals and Careers, I became an artist."
I am Chinese... born and raised in Okinawa, Japan... on a U.S. Military base. I left Okinawa for Georgia Tech in 1989 and picked up degrees in Mechanical Engineering and then Industrial Design. Then in 1997, I went to San Jose, CA, where I worked as a Lead Designer of an internet set-top box company. Sheesh, that was 8 years ago!

I first took a class in Figure Drawing at GT under the school of Architecture. There was an interesting professor who was supportive of my work. In fact, he was so supportive, he kept all of my drawing pads.

In any case, I hope that you enjoy the site. It's always nice to receive comments.
